WE ARE CALLED TO
WORSHIP GOD
L: We love the
One who has heard our voices.
C: God has inclined
an ear to us, so we will respond faithfully as long as
we live
L: So what shall
we do for the gracious One who heard our words and
responded with such benevolence toward us?
C: We shall call
upon this Good God’s name. We shall offer our
songs of thanksgiving before others. We shall come
into this sanctuary to worship and give thanks for the
presence of the Holy One.
*Opening Hymn

Much, When God is in It”

*Affirmation of
Faith:
“A MODERN
AFFIRMATION”
Leader:
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true
church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us
now declare:
All:
We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power,
and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose
will is ever directed to his children’s good.
We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man,
the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace, the ground of
our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin
and death.
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in
our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance
of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in
time of need.
We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the
service of love as set forth in the example of our
blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may
come upon the earth. Amen.
*Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was
in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen.

Sermon Outline
“Entourage
Energy”
(June 15, 2008
- Matthew 9:35-10:23)
Jesus didn’t
say, “If you want to be my groupies,
come, pick up your gift bag and follow me.”
1. We
shouldn’t confuse the entourage with groupies.
2. All of
us who follow Jesus should do so in an entourage.
3. All of
us who are in Jesus’ entourage today, need to always
think of ourselves as disciples, pupils of Jesus,
learners in the faith.
4.
Apostleship is not something reserved for special
Christians in ordinary times but for ordinary Christians
in special times.
5. The
success of God’s mission in the world depends on those
to whom it has been entrusted.
